Our Fruit & Veg Distribution Center in Geldermalsen is a Green Building Superstar! 🌱

This week, alongside EDEKA ZENTRALE Stiftung & Co. KG and intospace®, we proudly opened our first fruit & vegetable distribution center in Geldermalsen—our largest cooling installation ever, with 18 temperature zones.

The best part? It's designed to BREEAM Excellent standards, pushing sustainability to the next level:

✅ 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 – Energy label A++++, LED lighting with automatic dimming, and triple glass in office spaces.
✅ 𝗚𝗮𝘀-𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 – Powered by two electric heat pumps.
✅ 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Steel frames designed for future demolition and reuse, minimizing the use of virgin material.
✅ 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗶𝗻-𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 – Innovative sandwich panels designed for refurbishment at the end of life, and helping avoid 45,000 m² of traditional panel insulation.
✅ 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 – Waste heat from cooling infrastructure is repurposed for floor heating in office spaces.
✅ 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – On-site rainwater buffering system—supporting the Netherlands' rainproof cities vision.
✅ 𝗘-𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 – On-site charging infrastructure for electric trucks and refrigerated cargo.
✅ 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 – Eliminates a full day of transport, reducing emissions from inbound distribution.
